Professor Helen Minnis will address adverse childhood experience and its impact on adult mental health. How repeated trauma (low level or severe) affects the brain and emotions and what this means for those who have experienced repeated racial trauma?
Mr Malcolm Phillips will look at ways in which Black psychology can help healing and support the building of resilience to withstand the negative impact of racial trauma
Professor Dawn Edge will discuss how research can be better and be made to work for Black people, rather than against.
Who is this conference for?
This conference is open to practitioners, academics, those with lived experience and anyone with an interest in the mental health of ethnic minority groups.
