Trainees' Conference 2021

Event Information

This conference has been specifically designed for trainees at all levels.

Online booking is now open

We are pleased to be able to offer subsidised rates to attend this conference:

Trainee rate - £35 per day, £60 for whole conference

Non-trainee rate - £55 per day, £100 for whole conference

We invite submissions for both oral and poster presentation at the upcoming Trainees' Conference. All submissions will be reviewed by the Conference Committee ahead of the conference.

Oral presentations

We invite 200 word submissions about how you, as the psychiatrists of tomorrow, have broken barriers in your training journey.  We would like to know what you did, what barrier(s) you negotiated, how it felt and what you would want fellow trainees to know.

Perhaps you’ve combined training with another passion.  You may have taken a break from training for a while or juggled it with other priorities in your life.  Alternatively you may have overcome difficulties during training such as bullying or moved regions or nations during your training.

Your voices and narratives are vital to share with all trainees so we can all learn and see how the seemingly impossible is actually possible.  Four people from the submissions will be invited to present live in a workshop on 'breaking barriers' to during the conference, but submissions can be anonymised and displayed digitally.

The deadline for all submissions is 3pm 11 February 2021.

The conference will take place online using Zoom as a webinar.

Participants will be able view a video of the speaker and alongside any slides. Participants can also pose questions, where the programme allows, and some speakers may use polling or other interactive features.

All registered participants will have access to a recording for up to two months after the event.

The webinar is taking place online via Zoom. To take part you will need:

  • Access to a reliable internet connection
  • A PC, laptop, tablet or phone
  • Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser or Zoom installed on your PC, laptop, tablet or phone
You do not need to have a Zoom account to attend.

Some users may experience difficulty joining Zoom meetings due to security settings. If this is the case, we suggest you select the option to join via a web browser, rather than the Zoom app. If you cannot join on your computer you can still join on your phone.  Please take a look at this helpful guide on how to join a Zoom meeting.

It is your responsibility to ensure you have read and understood the guidelines before the event.

Please read our terms and conditions before making your booking.
