Event Information

This year's Trainees' conference will examine the theme of Mental Health and Human Rights

We are delighted to be joined by Dr George Szmukler, Chair of the RCPsych Special Committee on Human Rights, who will give an overview of the work of the College's committee. There will be a presentation by the organisation 'Freedom from Torture' who will explore ‘Models of Rehabilitation and the challenges survivors face’. 

Dr Derek Tracy will give an insight into ‘Medico-legal issues in Psychiatry’, while Belfast-based Dr May McCann will speak on 'Putting Human Rights into Mental Health'. 

The afternoon session will include Dr Ahmed Hankir who will present ‘The Wounded Healer' while ‘Human Rights Violations’  will be the theme of Julian Eaton, Assistant Professor and Mental Health Director CBM Global.
