Event Information

We are delighted to host the Joint World Congress of the RCPsych Rehabilitation and Social Psychiatry Faculty and the World Association of Social Psychiatry (WASP) at the College in January 2023.

This conference is offered in an innovative format, with both in-person and virtual (online) attendance possible. We hope this will widen access to those who might not be able to travel and reduce costs for others.

Register now to join delegates from all over the world and benefit from the perfect opportunity to enhance your professional development, improve your practice and enjoy a stimulating exchange of ideas and knowledge.

This WASP World Congress returns to London for the first time since 2014 with a theme of Recovery from mental illness: challenges and solutions from across the globe and a scientific programme that will explore a range of social factors in mental health, recovery and rehabilitation, amplify lived experience, equality and diversity, tackling stigma and discrimination, and advances in care models and interventions.

The programme offers an exciting range of high-quality symposia covering all aspects of mental health and delegates will be able to enjoy each and every parallel session. Whether you come to London or join us online, you will have access to the recordings of all lectures for two months after the event. Some of the world’s most eminent psychiatrists will be speaking at the event, including Professor Michael Marmot, Professor Marianne Kaastrup, Professor Dinesh Bhugra, Dr Adrian James, Professor Helen Killaspy and so many others.

This event offers over 50 hours of educational content. For the College's CPD purposes, the normal daily limits will apply - i.e., you can claim a maximum of 6CPD points per day (18 CPD points when attended in full). However, please note the delegates will have access to all this content for two months post event.

If you are watching content on-demand outside of the conference dates, you can also claim this as CPD. This is still limited to no more than 6 hours a day and subject to peer group approval. The attendance certificate provided by the College will only mention the conference dates (16-18 January). Any CPD claimed must be approved by your peer group and we would recommend the use of a reflective note as a part of this process.
