Event Information

9.30am-10am – Registration

10am – 10.30am –Talk 1

10.30-11am – Talk 2

11am-11.45am – Competition session

11.45am-12.45am – Lunch break

12.45am – 1pm – Workshop session 1: A rotation of the following workshops:

 Workshop 1 – Psychiatry simulation and psychiatry games room 

A combined workshop with some time going through a patient simulated scenario and team debrief, combined with an opportunity to relax and enjoy some psychiatry themed games and quizzes

Workshop 2 – Psychiatry speed dating – A day in the life of a psychiatrist

Spend time speaking one on one with individual psychiatrists who work in all different specialities. Learn about what goes on in Forensic psychiatry, Inpatient services, Liaison and Child and Adolescent mental health to name just a few!

Workshop 3 – How to get published – A guide for medical students 

A workshop where we explore the different routes to academic writing. In this session we use an editor’s perspective to delve into advice on publishing as a medical student. Learn the common reasons papers are rejected and tips and tricks for pitching your own ideas

3pm-3.45pm – Workshop session 3

3.45pm-4pm – Debrief and close

  1.     “Stigma and prejudice in mental health care”
  2.     “Psychiatry and the arts"
