Event Information

This event is primarily targeted toward psychiatrists, but it is also open to other non-psychiatric medical professionals and allied health professionals who have a passion or interest in delivering care for dementia. 

*The discounted allied healthcare professional rate is available for the following: allied healthcare professionals like occupational therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists etc.

Other medical professionals, e.g. GPs must select the non-member rate.

This online event aims to dispel the confusion underlying the diagnosis and management of dementia and describes how psychiatrists can recognise the condition and work to achieve successful outcomes. It seeks to equip psychiatrists to be better able respond to the needs of people with dementia by successfully combining pharmacological treatments with adequate support for people living with dementia and their carers. 

 Learning objectives: 

  • To understand the different types of dementia and the core diagnostic features of each type
  • To understand the process of diagnosis and management of dementia
  • To understand the risk factors associated with dementia and how risk can be mitigated 
  • To understand what it means to live well with dementia and how this can be achieved 
  • To recognise the various steps and personnel required to make a diagnosis of dementia

 

This event will be taking place online via a platform called EventsAir. Registered participants will receive their link to join the conference in their joining instructions. Joining instructions will be sent out in the days before the conference is due to take place. 
 
When you join the conference online you will be able to:
 
  • View a video of the speaker alongside any slides
  • Ask your questions to the speakers and chat with other delegates via the discussion forum
  • All registered participants will also have access to this conference recording for up to two months post event
