S17 Top ten facts every psychiatrist should know
Date: Tuesday 21 June
Time: 15.40 - 16.55
Stream: Clinical practice
Three leading clinical academics will present the 'Top ten facts every psychiatrist should know' about psychosis, bipolar disorder and depression. These will be based on results from systematic reviews & meta-analyses that clinicians can share with their patients to help them in joint decision making about their management. These will also provide corrective 'factsheets' for psychiatrists to challenge the latter-day antipsychiatrists. Each speaker will briefly cover diagnostic reliability and validity, prevalence, natural history and aetiology, before focussing on pharmacological and psychosocial interventions.
