Congress App guidance
In line with the College's position on sustainability and measures to reduce our carbon footprint, this year we will feature an app, which will be your guide to International Congress 2023.

The Congress App is now available to download for your smartphone. You can also find the app on the Google Play and Apple App Store by searching for ‘RCPsych IC23’.
UK users can also use the following links (from their mobile device) to download the app:
Alternatively, you can access all the same content using our web browser version of the app (no download required).
There are two ways to access the Congress App. You can either download the app to your smartphone, or by using your web browser.
To log in:
- Enter your email address registered on your RCPsych account and click ‘confirm’
- Enter your first and last name, and set your password. Then click ‘register’
After logging in for the first time, you will be asked whether you would like to use the chat messaging function, and whether you want your profile to appear to other attendees in the app. This can be amended at any time in your settings.
Once you have logged in to the app on your smartphone or web browser, you will be taken to the homepage, which includes quick links to key areas of the app.
More options can be found on our side menu, located to the left. In browser, this should appear automatically. On your smartphone app, select the three lines on the top left of your screen to open the side menu.
Programme
To view the full Congress programme, select ‘Programme’ from the home screen or the side menu. By default, the programme will show in list view. You can change this to calendar view, select the calendar icon in the top right.
You can navigate through the different days of Congress by using the left and right arrows at the top of your screen.
You can also select your favourite sessions to build your own programme. Simply select the star next to the session on the main programme, and navigate to the ‘My Schedule’ tab at the top of the screen to view what you have chosen.
To edit your profile, select the circle in the top-right of the app, which will open a menu of options. Then select “My Profile”.
Here you can add:
- a profile photo
- your job title and organisation
- some information about yourself
- preferred ways to contact you, including your social media details
You can also update your privacy settings, including whether you would like to show or hide your email and phone number if you have provided them, opt in or out of chat messaging, and change whether or not your profile appears to other attendees.
You can also request or delete your personal data.
Don’t forget to read the Congress Privacy Notice in the joining instructions as this outlines how people will be able to see and interact with you on the platform.
Our Congress App can also be used as a way to network with other attendees. Within the app there are a number of ways to interact with others
You can view other delegates by navigating to 'Attendees' in the side menu. You can use the 'Search' function to find specific people. You will be able to initiate a private, one to one chat or email other delegates directly, if they have allowed this function. To start messaging, select the profile of the delegate and then ‘Chat’.
When you view an exhibitor profile you will be able to chat with their representatives, who will be listed under ‘Speak with an expert’. To start messaging, select the speech bubble icon next to the name of the representatives. They will not be given your email address unless you have allowed this function in your profile settings.
You can view speakers by navigating to ‘Speakers’ in the side menu. You can use the 'Search' function to find specific speakers and view their profile, as well as send them chat messages if they have allowed this function. Their profile will also show which session/s they are speaking in, which you can click on for more information.
Please read our International Congress Privacy Notice and Code of Conduct before interacting with others on the platform.
All Q&A and polls during Congress will be facilitated using the Congress App.
To find the Q&A and/or poll for the session you are attending, find the session on the ‘Programme’ and select to view more information.
Icons labeled 'Q&A' and 'Poll' will appear at the top (on browser) or at the bottom (on mobile app) of the session page, which you can click on to submit a question or participate in polling.
Documents, including speaker slides (where we have been given permission to share them), will be made available on the Congress App.
To access documents for the session you are attending, go to ‘Programme’, then find and select the session to view more information. Here you will find any documents related to the session.
