We write standards for acute inpatient working age wards and review them regularly to keep them up-to-date. Our standards are based on national guidelines, available literature and recent research.
The input of service users, carers and professionals are sought to ensure our standards reflect the issues which make a difference to the experience of the person using the service. For this reason, the standards follow the care pathway through the patient’s journey from admission to discharge, looking particularly at timely and purposeful admissions, safety, environment/facilities, therapies/activities and policies, protocols and staffing related issues.
