Event Information
Conference theme
The conference will focus on the role of psychiatrists and healthcare professionals in changing outdated cultures and addressing the risks and impacts of institutionalism.
Speakers
Speakers confirmed to date include:
- Sarah Leitch and Alexis Quinn from the Restraint Reduction Network
- Amanda Allard from the National Children's Bureau will speak on safeguarding children with disabilities and complex health needs in residential settings.
- Dr Roger Banks – Consultant Psychiatrist and Former National Clinical Director for Learning Disability and Autism, NHS England.
- Professor Ciaran Mulholland – a Consultant Psychiatrist and Professor Psychiatrist at Queen's University Belfast will speak on his experience in Trouble-related trauma over his career to date and what learning might be applied to the current context in the field of Learning Disability.
