RCPsych in Wales & The National Association of Head Teachers Cymru joint meeting - Collaborative Approaches to Improve Mental Health in Schools

The RCPsych in Wales and the National Association of Head Teachers Cymru are hosting a joint conference for professionals from Mental Health and Education. The event will take place on Friday 14 December 2018, All Nations Centre, Cardiff.

This event will provide attendees with an overview of some of the work being undertaken in Wales and across the UK on improving mental health in schools. Professor Tamsin Ford, Exeter University will deliver the keynote lecture.

Delegates will then move into workshop sessions. The workshop sessions will provide attendees with a balance of invaluable clinical information and practical, school-based examples to support whole-school mental health and wellbeing

The cost of attendance is £60 per person

Workshop sessions will be allocated on the day, on a first come-first served basis.  You are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

All Wales approved clinician and section 12(2) induction and training 

The All Wales Approved Clinician and Section 12(2) Induction and Refresher training dates for 2018 are now available on the approval team's website.

The training is being delivered in a new format this year, with two induction training and a separate day of refresher training. If you are required to attend training this year, please visit the website to download the relevant booking form.

Induction Training

All new prospective Approved Clinician's and Section 12(2) Doctors are required to attend a course commissioned by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The certificate is required as part of the application process and applicants must have attended the training no longer than two years prior to applying for approval.

Refresher Training

All Section 12(2) Doctors must attend a refresher course within the last two years of their current approval ending.

Approved are not required to attend the refresher to be reapproved, they are welcome to attend as the training provides an opportunity to learn about any changes to legislation, better practice and share experiences with AC colleagues.
