Bipolar Awareness Project

Ethan Dodd and Cerys Knighton present the Royal College of Psychiatrists Wales Bipolar Awareness Project.

Cerys Knighton is a 26-year-old Welsh artist and medical humanities PhD student, whose research has been funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council SWW-DTP.

Working with ink pointillism, pencil, and clay, Cerys creates artwork exploring the findings from her research, as well as her own experiences of living with bipolar disorder since childhood.

Ethan Dodd is a multimedia artist and masters student whose work aims to transform lived experience into a physical form.

Through his research, Ethan has decided to explore themes of heraldry as a visual language for the project, creating two standards representing the experiences of those living with the disorder.
