Aims of the conference
To update psychiatrists and other mental health professionals about domestic violence and abuse and: a) its relationship with mental health problems: and b) how to identify and respond to potential victims and perpetrators.
This is particularly topical with the Domestic Violence and Abuse Bill currently going through parliament, which highlights the role of health professionals in identifying and supporting patients experiencing domestic violence.

Learning objectives
Participants will understand the relationship between domestic violence and mental disorders.
Participants will know how to identify victims and perpetrators, assess risk and safety plan.
Participants will learn how to develop a service that implements NICE guidance and good practice guidance associated with the new domestic violence and abuse bill.
