About
We are pleased to announce that bookings are now open for our 'Autism Essentials for Psychiatrists' one-day training, which will take place in Clifton House on Thursday, 6 February, from 10:00 to 16:00.
This training, which is led by Dr Ian Davidson, the College's Champion for Autism, aims to cover essential knowledge for psychiatrists who aren’t specialists in Autism to help them meet training requirements under current and emerging legislation. Autistic people are at a higher risk than the general population of developing mental health problems. These include all the mental health conditions that can present to services in which psychiatrists practice.
There is general agreement from psychiatrists, autistic people and their families and supporters and multiple other groups that many psychiatrists do not feel confident in knowing how best to respond to Autistic people accessing the services in which they work. This course has been delivered successfully across NHS England and Dr Davidson will be joined by Drs Rachel Moody and Clair Haydon, together with a range of interested groups who will provide a local perspective to the training.
