Faculty of Intellectual Disability Psychiatry Annual Conference 2020

Event Information

Dear Colleagues,

Our annual faculty residential conference is the highlight of the year. It is an opportunity  for us to share and update ourselves with the latest developments relevant to our clinical practice and meet up with colleagues and friends, I hasten to add face to face. Alas, the things we took for granted in life! Due to the current situation we cannot have a residential conference this year. Don’t lose heart, as we will be hosting the annual conference albeit in the virtual world this time; there is always a first .

We have put together an exciting one day programme and have some eminent and illustrious speakers in the conference who will be sharing their pearls of wisdom with us. We will start off the day with a key note speech from the new College President Dr Adrian James. We are delighted to share that we will have Sir Norman Lamb as one of the speakers. The other distinguished speakers are ; Dr Hugh Selsick, Dr Kirsten Lamb,  Prof Santosh, Dr Sameer Jauhar and Prof Angela Hassiotis. Like every year we have a session for trainees across the country to showcase their work and compete for the prestigious Alec Shapiro oral presentation prize.

I would also like to add if your poster(s)had been accepted for the spring conference they will automatically be bought forward for the autumn conference and you do not need to submit them again.

I am sure this has whetted your appetite and look forward to seeing you all at the conference virtually for now till we meet face to face in healthier times. Please share and disseminate with your colleagues and trainees.

Date for the diary;1st October 2020!

Kind Regards,

Inder Sawhney
