Welcome to the West Midlands Division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

We cover Birmingham and the Black Country, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

This is a large active division with over 1000 Members, Fellows, Affiliates and Pre-Membership trainees. Our administrative office is based in Birmingham.

The West Midlands Division currently has the following vacancies:

  • Eating Disorders Regional Specialty Representative
  • Forensic  Psychiatry Regional Specialty Representative 
  • Deputy General Adult Psychiatry Regional Specialty Representative 
  • Quality Improvement Representative 

These roles are senior College positions, representing the College on all matters relating to postgraduate education, professional development and the formulating and approval of appropriate job descriptions in psychiatric posts.

All applicants should have held a substantive Consultant or Specialist Associate post for at least 2 years, however this requirement may be reduced to 1 year with the agreement of the Regional Advisor.

West Midlands Workforce Deanery - The West Midlands Workforce Deanery is responsible for postgraduate medical and dental education and training in the area covered previously by the West Midlands Strategic Health Authority.
