West Midlands Clinical Audit/QI Prize

Eligibility and criteria

Each year the West Midlands Division runs a Clinical Audit / Quality improvement Prize for Foundation Doctors, Psychiatric Trainees and SAS Doctors at the Winter Webinar.

The winner will receive a £100 prize and chance to present their project at the Winter Webinar.

Entrants should have made a significant contribution to the audit / quality improvement project at conception and implementation phases, and the study should have begun not more than two years before submitting for the prize. It may be conducted by an individual alone, but consideration will be given to a multi-disciplinary audit.

The description should comprise a 1,500-2,000 word summary setting out the background to the project, the work involved and the outcome, and be accompanied by a letter confirming their participation from either their tutor or consultant supervisor.

West Midlands Clinical Audit/QI Prize Regulations 2022

Entrants are invited to submit a description of a completed clinical audit to which they have made a significant contribution. The audit must be a completed cycle rather than a preliminary standing setting investigation or a simple descriptive study.

Each entry must include:

  • Descriptive Study
  • A letter confirming their participation from either their tutor or consultant supervisor.

Deadline for Applications: Friday 4 November 2022.
To enter this competition, you must be based in the West Midlands Division which covers the following regions:

  • Birmingham
  • Black Country
  • Staffordshire
  • Shropshire
  • Warwickshire
  • Herefordshire
  • Worcestershire

Please note: if you are based outside this area your entry will not be accepted.

You must be available to attend the Winter Webinar, online, on Friday 2nd December 2022.

You must enter your correct and current grade on the and the work must be completed whilst studying or working in the West Midlands Division.

Descriptive studies over 2,000 words will be returned to you for correction. If they are not returned by the competition closing date, they will not be accepted.

Any entries submitted after the deadline of Friday 4 November will not be accepted.

There will be £100 prize money awarded to the winner as well as a certificate of merit.

The winner will also have chance to present their project at the West Midlands Winter Webinar.

You will be contacted after the event with information on payment of the prize fund.
