Help for veterans
We’ve produced a new section to support veterans with their mental health.
In England, NHS England launched Op COURAGE earlier this year, a specialist service to support people who have been members of the armed forces who need mental health support.
Our new section signposts all of the help available to veterans whether they are living in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, including contact information for a private consultation and what to do if you need more urgent help.
Professor Neil Greenberg, lead for military and veterans’ mental health at RCPsych, said:
“Armed forces personnel are at risk of experiencing mental health problems as a result of their military service.
“These people are willing to put their lives on the line for us, and it is right that specialist support services are in place to help them later, and that may be many years after they’ve left the military.
“I hope the information and links on this page are useful, and that they help veterans access the support they need.”
