New Members Ceremonies: dates announced
The College has announced dated for four virtual New Members Ceremonies, to welcome people who passed MRCPsych just before the pandemic in the UK struck.
We’ll be holding virtual New Members’ Ceremonies on the following dates: 30 April, 6 May, 7 October, and 14 October for those whose physical ceremonies couldn’t take place in 2020 and 2021.
We’ve started inviting new Members who passed their exams in late 2019 and early 2020 for the first ceremonies, and will be contacting others in due course.
Due to the cancellations of ceremonies over the past year we have a large backlog of new Members, so we decided to put these virtual ceremonies in place to ensure their achievements don’t go unrecognised.
At this stage, we don’t know either when we’ll be able to hold face-to-face events and, if social distancing continues, when we can hold New Members Ceremonies at full capacity.
However, when we can hold large scale face-to-face events again in the future, we hope to accommodate extra ceremonies then.
New Members will be welcome to attend the virtual ceremonies this year and in addition attend face-to-face ceremonies when we are able to host them.
It’s been a very trying time for trainees and our new Members, and we want to ensure that they’re able to celebrate their huge achievement in becoming Members of the College.
If you have any questions about New Members' Ceremonies, please email membership.operations@rcpsych.ac.uk.
