Summer issue of RCPsych Insight almost in sight!
Keep your eyes peeled for the summer issue of RCPsych Insight magazine, a membership survey special edition.
Arriving by post with UK members towards the end of next week, and also becoming available to everyone digitally from our website from 3 June, it invites you all to take part in the College’s first membership survey and let your views be heard on how it runs.
The magazine, which is now four years old, also covers what RCPsych is doing to ensure your voices are heard in government over proposed changes to mental health law and the NHS, and discusses strategies being used by the NHS and RCPsych to tackle the climate and ecological emergency.
In an international feature, Professor Jackie Hoare, who recently became the first psychiatrist on the GMC specialist register for neuropsychiatry, talks about the challenges faced by young people living with HIV in South Africa, and how research and remodelling care systems can help.
In collaboration with the Anna Freud Centre, our practice feature examines how lockdown has dealt an extra blow to many vulnerable children and their carers but, for some, it has allowed greater access to help.
Honouring the memory of Dame Fiona Caldicott, the College’s first female President, who passed away in February, this issue contains a personal tribute to her by former RCPsych President Dr Mike Shooter.
