Northern Ireland Troubles

The Northern Ireland Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme (TPDPS) is a unique scheme that was launched to award recognition payments to victims and survivors of Northern Ireland's ‘Troubles’ who have suffered long-term harm and disablement, both physical and psychological.

Further details are included in this letter from the Victims Payment Board.

Members of the College are invited to support the TPDPS by joining a list of psychiatrists who are prepared to examine existing clinical records for the purposes of the Scheme and/or to engage in psychological assessments for the purposes of the Scheme.

If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact Professor Ciaran Mulholland, Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychiatric Advisor to the Scheme for a more detailed conversation about the exact workings of the scheme.
