Mindmasters quiz
Members are invited to the exciting final stages of the College’s first ever Mindmasters quiz competition on 28 November.
Teams from London, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are competing for the title of ‘Mindmasters Champions’ from 4pm at the College’s headquarters in Prescot St, London.
The first heats for the competition took place at International Congress in June, with all English Divisions represented and a lively crowd helping to create a fantastic atmosphere.
Organisers are hoping excitement will be even higher for the semi-finals and finals, which are again hosted by Dr Derek Tracy and Dr Suhana Ahmed, who were our entertaining, yet scrupulously fair, comperes in the heats.
Like the earlier rounds, the quiz will include quick-fire buzzer questions, team questions and audience participation.
The timetable for the event is:
- 4pm: Semi-final final 1 – Northern Ireland v Wales
- 5pm: Semi-final 2 – London v Scotland
- 6pm: Break
- 7pm: Final – winners of the two semi-finals meet.
- 7.45pm: Speeches and presentation of awards.
Professor Subodh Dave, Dean of the College, whose idea it was to hold the event, said:
“I wanted the event to celebrate academic excellence in psychiatry, in a fun way which brings a lot of people together.
“The heats were tremendous fun and we look forward to the semi-finals and finals being an amazing culmination of the competition.
“We’d love it if you can come along and support your team, or just enjoy the fun of the occasion. And if you can’t, you can watch online.”
