RCPsych Awards 2022

We recently extended our deadline for RCPsych Awards nominations to 5pm tomorrow (Friday 13 May), so this is your final chance to nominate excellent colleagues and teams for an award.

The annual RCPsych Awards are a chance for you to recognise the teams and individuals who are making a real difference to mental health services. Recognising a colleague with an award nomination can really make a difference.

Dr Lade Smith said she was so thrilled she was ‘on cloud nine for a week’ when she found out she was nominated for Psychiatrist of the Year in 2019.

She is calling out to colleagues to get their nominations in to ensure the Awards are the best yet, truly reflecting the diversity and talent of members across the country – and internationally.

“I honestly couldn’t believe it when my name was called out as the winner, especially against such exceptional colleagues.

“Nearly three years on it still gives me a thrill that I was voted one of the best psychiatrists in the country.

“Having this recognition for my clinical work validates all the hard work over many, many years.

“Even now, when things aren’t going so well, it brings a smile and helps me deal with whatever challenges might arise in the everyday business of being a psychiatrist.”

Find out more about the categories for this year’s awards and make sure to submit your nominations by 5pm tomorrow.

We’re especially keen for nominations for Foundation Doctor, Carer Contributor, Academic Researcher and Team of the Year: Outstanding Commitment to Sustainability/Green Care.

The shortlisted nominations will be announced in August with the winners being announced at the RCPsych Awards ceremony in November.
