RCPsych Awards 2022

Past RCPsych Awards winners

Just being nominated for an RCPsych Award can have a huge impact on morale and leaves people feeling like winners.

That’s the message from Dr Mani Krishnan, who has experienced what it's like both to be a finalist, and on another occasion to win an award.

Dr Krishnan, chair of the Old Age Faculty, was a member of the 2018 Psychiatric Team of the Year in the Quality Improvement category, and winner of Psychiatric Communicator of the Year in 2017.

He said:

“It is a great opportunity to share the great work done by individuals or teams and get recognised.

“Having won the award for psychiatric communicator of the year award few years ago gave me a significant morale boost to contribute more.

“I encourage teams to nominate as well as individuals in my trust.

“During the pandemic there has been a significant impact on staff morale - however our colleagues are doing amazing jobs, delivering care to a vulnerable population. It is not all about winning - we got shortlisted several times and won a couple of awards.

“Every time we felt as a winner.”
