PLAN supporting members to meet standards

The Psychiatric Liaison Accreditation Network (PLAN) aims to support ongoing quality improvement.

PLAN has several standards regarding patient and carer involvement (such as delivering training to staff and involvement in the recruitment process of staff) which several of our teams struggled with.

To support this, PLAN held two, one-hour learning sessions led by two of its patient representatives, on what teams can do to improve this.

Following this we have turned their presentation into a practical workbook to support member teams to help improve patient and carer involvement.

The workbook contains ideas and tips, as well as action planning sections so teams can look at activities/tasks that would benefit from lived experience involvement, as well as how to recruit and support those that are involved in the team. It is available on our online discussion forum Knowledge Hub for PLAN member services to access.

This is one way we are looking to support our members to meet some of the more difficult standards. We hope our members find this a helpful and beneficial resource.
