Last chance to vote for new President

College members have just six days left to cast their vote in the election for the next RCPsych President.

Dr Kate Lovett, Professor Russell Razzaque and Dr Lade Smith CBE are all vying to replace Dr Adrian James, who will demit office at the next AGM on 11 July.

The ballot will close at midday next Wednesday, with the winner of the poll being announced late on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning – at which point a full breakdown of the turnout and share of votes for each candidate will be published.

The winner of the election will go on to become the eighteenth President of the RCPsych and the leader of the profession.

The successful candidate will replace Adrian at the College AGM, being held during next year’s International Congress, in Liverpool, in July.

All College members who are eligible to vote in the election are asked to look out for the last few remaining ballot emails, which contain a link to the online voting portal.

One ballot email was sent out this morning (Thursday) at around 9am. The others will be sent out early on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

We wish all three candidates the very best of luck.

Nominations are also open for a variety of key elected roles at the College, including the vital role of the member rep on the Trustee Board. The closing date for nominations is Friday 27 January. The full list of election vacancies can be found via our elections page.
