Be a speaker at our Quality Improvement conference

The annual RCPsych Quality Improvement (QI) conference will be held this year on 28 November 2023.

This will be a face-to-face full-day event taking place at the College’s offices at 21 Prescot Street, London, showcasing the best of quality improvement in mental health.

We are inviting individuals and teams to submit proposals for presentation at the conference.

Proposals for presentations are invited on a variety of related areas:

  • examples of improving safety in mental health services
  • examples of projects that promote staff well-being
  • examples of how to apply quality improvement to improve flow, manage demand and capacity
  • examples of how to build quality improvement capability
  • examples of how quality improvement is being used to tackle inequalities in mental health care
  • examples of quality improvement work involving students, trainees, Speciality Doctors and Associate Specialists.

Co-Production should be an essential component of QI projects submitted.

Please note that our emphasis this year is on spotlighting the essential role of patients and carers working together with clinicians, and mental health professionals in successful QI projects. We particularly welcome proposals that have a strong service user and carer involvement.

Abstracts should include:

  • a title (15 words maximum)
  • background material (what was the issue chosen, and why is it important)
  • details of how quality improvement has made a difference (aim statement, theory of change, ideas tested, data over time)
  • description of service user/carer involvement in the project
  • challenges and achievements
