Mental Health Awareness Week

The theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is loneliness – a problem which many people experience, which was exacerbated by the pandemic.

Dr Mani Krishnan, chair of the Old Age Faculty, spoke to us about the effects of loneliness, and the impact it had on the vulnerable during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the podcast, Mani talks about the impact of the pandemic on older people, those with dementia, and people who experience delirium, as well as what can be done to help older people who don’t have family and friends who can visit regularly, and experience loneliness as a result.
