In our podcast to celebrate Pride 2022, we interviewed Jesse, a partnerships manager and recovery worker from The Outside Project, and Dr Jenny Drife, adviser to the College on homelessness.
Videos
Dr Richard Cole, a core trainee, and Dr Mark Winchester, an ST6, have recorded videos explaining what Pride month means to them, why it is important that the College celebrates Pride, and talking about why Pride 2022 is different as we emerge from the pandemic.
Bringing your whole self to work
One of the highlights of our Pride programme has been our special event 'Bringing your whole self to work – why it’s essential for good mental health and better patient outcomes' which took place on Thursday 9 June.
During the webinar, Ruth Bolle, Managing Partner of Research by Design, led a discussion that covered key findings from the College's recent LGBTQ+ research.
There were also presentations from Dr Saul Levin, CEO and Medical Director of the American Psychiatric Association, Dr Bob Batterson, Clinical Professor and Child Psychiatrist at the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City Missouri, and Adrian Garcia, MHFA England lead for the Higher Education sector and founder and chair of Project Pride.
Updating on the LGBTQ+ survey
To kick off our Pride celebrations, Dr Pavan Joshi, the chair of the College's Rainbow Special Interest Group (SIG), wrote a fantastic blog post for us about the LGBTQ+ member survey the College conducted December 2021 - January 2022.
In the blog post he covered the findings of the survey, what needs to happen next, and talked about why Pride is important.
