Patient Representative x1 and Carer Representative x1 - Eating Disorders Credential

The Royal College of Psychiatrists is seeking one Patient and one Carer Representative to join the Eating Disorder Credential Pilot as representatives. The successful applicants will have recent lived experience of Eating Disorder mental health services or caring for someone with mental illness.

The Patient Representative and the Carer Representative will be an integral member of the Eating Disorder Credential Working Group working with the Chair of the Credentialing Working Group and Chair of the Faculty of Eating Disorders, to engage the wider membership and partner organisations in advocating for the Credential.

The focus of this work is to increase the number of Consultants in Eating Disorder posts using Credentialing as a training route.

The Eating Disorder Credential Working Group meets three times a year in London to discuss a range of issues relating to the specialty of Eating Disorders. The majority of the Working Group are psychiatrists from across the UK.

The Patient Representative and the Carer Representative are expected to attend and contribute to the Working Group meetings and collaborate with members to complete pieces of work, such as input into consultation documents and college papers. Opportunities arise for involvement with the annual conference, communications and the media.

This is an excellent opportunity for patients and carers to contribute their perspectives on important mental health issues for Eating Disorders and be part of our ongoing strategy and communications development.
