The College is seeking a new Editor-in-Chief for BJPsych International. The present Editor-in-Chief, Professor David Skuse, will be standing down at the end of November 2023. Applications are invited from College Members who feel they have the drive and vision to continue his work and ensure this important journal’s continued growth and development.

BJPsych International provides psychiatrists and all mental health professionals with an overview of current policy and practice in psychiatry from a global perspective. Its primary mission is to provide a publication platform for authors from low-and-middle-income countries.

The Editor-in-Chief of BJPsych International will be responsible to the College for the content and development of the Journal. Specifically, this will involve overall responsibility for the peer review process, planning and selection of content, commissioning articles, overseeing the work of the Editorial Board and taking responsibility for the relevance, appropriateness and validity of the content. They will ensure processes are fair and reasonable. The Editor-in-Chief will strive to publish content that can influence practice worldwide, with focus on practice in low- and middle-income countries.
