The Royal College of Psychiatrists is seeking 1 Patient or Carer Representative with an interest in improving the quality of mental health organisation’s serious incident review processes to join the Serious Incident Review Accreditation Network (SIRAN) as a worker. We are looking for a patient or carer representative who has recent lived experience of engaging in an organisation’s serious incident review processes that can help support us in our work.

The Serious Incident Review Accreditation Network (SIRAN) is an accreditation and quality improvement network for mental health organisation’s to sign up to and seek support in improving their serious incident review processes.

The Patient or Carer Representative will be expected to attend and contribute to peer review visits of other organisations, accreditation committee meetings and collaborate with the SIRAN project team to complete pieces of work, such as input into standards and publications. There are also opportunities for involvement in our events and newsletters.

RCPsych has developed a high media profile and is a leading organisation in terms of equality and diversity. It was a recent winner of Charity of the Year at the European Diversity Awards. This is an excellent opportunity for patients and carers to contribute their perspectives on important mental health issues for serious incident reviews and be part of our ongoing strategy and communications development.
