The Royal College of Psychiatrists is embedding the next phase of its engagement network to improve how we work with and support our members locally on policy development and implementation. 

The Policy Engagement Manager will play a vital part in developing the Network, as well as providing ongoing operational and strategic management. They will also lead on our wider policy influencing work relating to local level NHS systems and structures. We are looking for a dynamic individual who can take our local engagement strategy and related policy work to the next level, and who can work effectively with internal and external stakeholders in the course of this work. 

The successful candidate will be passionate about achieving change and have experience of linking the national policy agenda with local implementation. In doing so, you will need to be able to work with and utilise the expertise and experience of College representatives and grassroot members to improve the care of people with mental illness.  

Working with other members of the Policy and Campaigns team and wider College you will identify and seize opportunities to promote and develop College policy, particularly in relation to delivering the mental health commitments in the NHS Long Term Plan. You will need excellent planning and project skills, and enjoy working across a range of policy areas. 

The post-holder will sit within the Policy and Campaigns team and will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of passionate staff and members on this important initiative.
