Presidential Lead for Compassionate and Relational Care

Key responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- support and advise the President and College Officers in all matters relating to compassionate and relational care
- lead on the development and delivery of the College’s approach to compassionate and relational care
- represent the College and the President in NHS work programmes across the 4 nations of the UK related to compassionate and relational care (for example, NHS England’s Quality Transformation Programme)
- work with external stakeholders in developing compassionate and relational care
- work with College departments, in particular the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health (NCCMH) and the College Centre for Quality Improvement (CCQI) in ensuring that their work supports the delivery of compassionate and relational care
- work with other Presidential Leads.

The Royal College of Psychiatrists is the professional membership body for psychiatrists and promotes excellent care for people with mental illness.
It has over 20,000 members and engages with government and the media as the leading voice of the UK’s mental health services.
