Overview of the role

The RCPsych Specialist Advisor for Workforce plays a vital role in leading the development of College strategy in relation to the psychiatric workforce, including supporting workforce retention.

This College role will oversee the production of psychiatric workforce data with a view to more accurate workforce planning and progression tracking.

Through the Workforce Committee, they receive key operational feedback from across the four Nations and College Faculties and are well placed to ensure these issues are explored and best practice is shared.

Key responsibilities

  • to lead and chair the College Workforce Committee ensuring engagement from across the four nations and College Faculties
  • to provide strategic direction and cohesion to all College activities relating to the UK workforce as well as the wider mental health workforce.
