Professor Rafey Faruqui
Chair, South Eastern Division
Rafey Faruqui was elected as Chair of South East England Division of Royal College of Psychiatrists this year. He will be commencing his four-year term in June 2021 and will be joining the RCPsych Council and RCPsych Board of Trustees. He is an Honorary Professor at the Centre of Health Services Studies at the University of Kent and works as a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist at Kent & Medway Partnership NHS Trust. He is appointed as Clinical Adviser in Ethics, Law and Professionalism at Kent & Medway Medical School.
Rafey is a past Chair of the Neuropsychiatry Faculty at the Royal College of Psychiatrists and recognized internationally for his teaching development and psychiatric services development work. He has a keen interest in developing and promoting Population Mental Health initiatives and disaster response preparedness. He is the Editor of the recently published Oxford Textbook of Neuropsychiatry.
