As a College we are doing everything we can to support you during the pandemic.Recognising that the landscape has been turned on its head, we have cancelled all our events until late May, cancelled the paper B written examination and relaxed our rules around the amount of e-learning that can accrue CPD points.
However, while we have made many changes and cancelled , after careful consideration, we have decided that our planned election for Registrar should go ahead.
This is because the role of Registrar will become vacant in the summer, as following his victory in our recent presidential election, current Registrar, Dr Adrian James, will take up the role of President, replacing Professor Wendy Burn.
The Registrar role is critical for the College. It is responsible for overseeing our work engaging with the government and the media, as well as for policy and membership engagement.
The post-holder is also the person who substitutes for the President if they become incapacitated.
Voting closes at noon on Monday 20 April.
The election is being administered by Civica Election Services on behalf of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Civica Election Services will send members entitled to vote, a unique link that will take you to the voting website where you will be able to make your choice.
We appreciate that you will have many pressing issues to grapple with, but this is really important, shouldn't take too long and will be time well spent.
Please take this opportunity to vote and help shape the future of your specialty at this difficult time – and do look after yourself and your loved ones.’
