New patient and carer information resource on heroin dependence

The College’s Public Engagement Editorial Board (PEEB) has published a new mental health information resource on heroin dependence.

This information is for people who use or are dependent on heroin, and the people who know them. It looks at heroin use and dependence, and explains what it is, who it affects, what causes it, treatments available and places where you might find helpful information.

Special thanks to Dr Zarah Fleming and Dr Donna Mullen who authored and edited this resource. This information was also reviewed by someone with lived experience of heroin dependence.

Take a look at this resource using the button below and explore our other mental health information for patients and carers on our website. Our information is split between problems and disorders, and support, care and treatment, and we also have information specifically written for young people and children.
