A guide to Congress 2023 for students and trainees – by the Psychiatric Trainees’ Committee (PTC) Chair
18 April, 2023
I am thrilled to welcome all trainees to the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ International Congress 2023 in Liverpool. This city holds a special place in my heart as it is where I studied, and I am excited to return to this vibrant and diverse city to participate in this prestigious event.
The Royal College of Psychiatrists’ International Congress is a highly anticipated event and is one of the most significant gatherings in the field of psychiatry. The conference attracts experts, researchers, clinicians, and trainees from all over the world, who come together to share their insights and experiences, and to learn from one another. The Congress is an excellent opportunity for trainees to engage with leading experts in the field of psychiatry, share ideas and knowledge, and network with colleagues from around the world.
The keynote lectures are the highlight of the Congress, with some of the most esteemed researchers in the field of psychiatry delivering thought-provoking talks, the symposia provide a platform for experts to discuss and debate the latest developments in their respective fields, and the poster sessions give attendees the opportunity to present their own research and receive feedback from their peers.
In addition to the academic program, attendees will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Liverpool, which is renowned for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant arts scene – it is a city of innovation and creativity, with a thriving arts and cultural scene.
This Student and Trainee Guide has a selection of programme highlights that will be of particular interest to trainees and has been put together by our own Psychiatric Trainees’ Committee (PTC). This guide also gives information on our plans for trainee-specific spaces and activities such as the Student and Trainee Social at PINS Social Club on Tuesday 11 July (8.30pm).
I am so excited to see you all there!
