Coach or mentor – what’s the difference?
21 March, 2019
Both are powerful roles that can empower you to achieve your potential.
There is a lot of overlap but 3 key differences are:
- Coaches are usually trained and qualified for the role
- Coaches use their skills to work with people outside of their own area of expertise and can work 'blind' to the content
- Mentors bring experience and knowledge as an available resource to the mentee
If you are not sure what you need, have a chat with a coach or a mentor to help you decide what background and experience would most help you achieve your purpose.
If you would like to find a mentor through the Divisional Office or ask more about mentoring, please contact us via email.
