Is your CCG meeting the national mental health investment
More than one in ten CCGs are failing to meet the national
Mental Health Investment Standard, RCPsych analysis shows.
We looked at the spending of 203 CCGs across England and found
that 29 – or 14.3% – are not meeting the standard set by NHS
England for 2017/18.
During the next financial year the picture is not much better.
Twenty one CCGs (10.3%) have failed to meet the standard.
This is despite NHS England requiring CCGs to increase
investment in Mental Health services in line with their overall
increase in allocation each year.
How is the figure calculated?
By comparing the growth in mental health spend from the previous
year to overall programme growth for each CCG.
This is also adjusted for the additional mental health monies
included in CCG baselines and spend against ‘new’ mental health
