The Royal College of Psychiatrists Improving the lives of people with mental illness

Employers Guide

Employers GuideWe've launched an information pack to help organisations support their staff’s mental health.

We’d love it if you as Members could tell your HR departments about the pack which is available online, or as a series of leaflets.

Our information explains how to recognise a possible mental health problem, and how best to support those living with mental ill health.

It has been written collaboratively by psychiatrists and patients, has won awards for its clarity and helpfulness, and includes:

  • the most common range of conditions such as depression, anxiety, and sleeping problems

  • conditions which affect employers and employees such as seasonal affective disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and post-natal depression

  • serious mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and personality disorders

How you can help

We think the organisations you work in will find it useful have this information to hand, to support employees.
