Innovation and sharing ideas

We’re passionate about encouraging members of the division to innovate, and the share their great ideas with each other.

What do we mean by an innovation?

Any idea you’ve introduced, which has improved patient care, and / or made your practice more effective.

Why innovate?

  • Innovation leads to improvements in patient care
  • Getting involved in innovating leads to a more varied and fulfilling career
  • We run a competition each year where the best innovations are recognised
  • You can include your work relating to innovating in your CPD records

Do you have an Innovation?

We’d love you to share it with colleagues in the region.

How to share the innovation

  • Submit a proposal of 200 words outlining your innovation including how it was delivered and the resulting changes.
  • The south west division moderators will peer review your idea, taking into account how easy the idea would be for others to reproduce.

If your proposal is successful

  • We will share it online
  • It will be published in the South West Division eNewsletter and on our social media channels.

If your idea is used by others

If your idea is 'evolved' or adopted in another area, both adoptee and the proposer will receive certificates of successful implementation of innovation at a South West Division Biannual Meeting.
