Reviewer Training

Reviewer training is a free event for staff from a service that is a member of the Quality Network. The training is a great learning experience for those who are interested in participating in external peer-reviews, at medium and low secure forensic mental health services.

 

Dates of Training:

Date: 30 April 2018 (Limited spaces available)

Time: 13:00 - 17:00

Location: Royal College of Psychiatrists, 21 Prescot Street, E1 8BB

 

Date: 15 August 2018

Time: 09:30 - 12:30

Location: Principle Met Hotel, Kings Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 2HQ

 

Learning Objectives:

The training will give potential reviewers the opportunity to gain practical knowledge about how to conduct a peer-review visit. The training day will involve presentation, discussion and workshops created to develop the skills of a reviewer.

By the end of the training participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the Quality Network’s overall peer-review review process
  2. Deliver the role and responsibilities of the lead reviewer before, during and after the peer-review
  3. Troubleshoot and manage complaints and other difficulties that may arise during a peer-review
  4. Describe and promote the ethos of the Quality Network’s peer-reviews
  5. Describe the key benefits of the peer-review process and membership of the Quality Network

Annual Forums

The Quality Network for Forensic Mental Health Services is hosting an annual forum for Medium and Low Secure Units. This will be an interactive event packed with presentations and workshops. It is an opportunity for professionals from all disciplines, patients and family and friends to meet and discuss key service development issues relevant to inpatient forensic mental health services in greater detail and share ideas about the future.

Member services are also invited to submit a presentation proposal (oral or poster) to showcase good practice. If your service has an area of good practice you would like to share please complete and return the proposal form by  20 April 2018 to Jemini Jethwa at jemini.jethwa@rcpsych.ac.uk.

 

LSU Annual Forum: 12 June 2018
