New edition of standards for community mental health services published (ACOMHS)

We are pleased to announce that the newest First Edition of the standards for community mental health services has now been published. Please download the full standards.

Following a successful pilot of the Accreditation for Community Mental Health Services (ACOMHS), the standards and process have been revised and we are now ready to accept new registrations. Teams wishing to sign up for a quality improvement review and accreditation against the standards can contact us for more information, or complete the joining form and return it to us.

The accreditation programme works with staff to assure and improve the quality of community mental health services for people with mental health problems, and their carers. It engages staff in a comprehensive process of review, through which good practice and high quality care are recognised, and teams receive support to identify and address areas for improvement. 

Involving service users and carers in this programme is a priority, and people with first hand experience of using community mental health services have been encouraged to get involved in all stages of the development process.

Accreditation assures staff, service users and carers, commissioners and regulators of the quality of the service being provided.

We are pleased to announce that registrations for the ACOMHS 2nd Annual Forum are now open.

This promises to be a very exciting day with a range of presentations. In addition, there will be ample networking opportunities.

This conference is open to all ACOMHS members, service users and carers. ACOMHS members are entitled to 2 free places, and additional staff from ACOMHS member services are offered discounted places. Non ACOMHS members are invited to attend with a fee of £50 per place.
