Neuroscience in training

The five-year Neuroscience Project ran from 2016 to 2021 with the aim of transforming psychiatric training in the UK.We were awarded a grant from the Wellcome Trust and Gatsby Foundation to ensure that training focuses more on the exciting advances in basic and clinical neuroscience, so that trainees are better equipped to provide mental health care in the future.

Our resources

Neuroscience is a gift to Psychiatry. It offers hope to both clinicians and patients in terms of driving forward our understanding of the neurobiological basis of mental illness, which in turn seeks to yield novel treatments to improve the quality of life of people impacted by chronic and debilitating mental illness.
