Increasing trainer capacity: introducing new College guidance
The RCPsych Council approved new guidance in January 2023 on the recognition and approval of trainers, which can be found on the educational provider pages of our website.
Our continued success at filling our Core Training places and expansion of core and higher specialty training posts over the past few years has meant that we also need to increase our educational trainer capacity and support experienced psychiatrists in undertaking Educational and Clinical Supervision roles.
This guidance outlines the recommended experience required at each level of supervision and training that should be undertaken for this valuable and rewarding role.
