About us
The Perinatal Section
was inaugurated in 1996. It aims to:
- promote the subject of perinatal psychiatry within the
College
- provide a network of support and information for interested
psychiatrists
- promote the provision of services for childbearing women with
mental health problems
- develop educational opportunities for psychiatrists in
training
- foster research in the area of perinatal psychiatry
- act as a resource for the College in its links with other
related professional bodies, governmental organisations and the
public
The Section has an annual scientific
meeting. The inaugural meeting was held in 2002 and are now timed
to occur in November of each year. Programmes of past meetings can
be found below. Non-members are welcome to attend and details of
forthcoming meetings are posted on these pages. An annual business
meeting is held during the scientific meeting.
