Dr Anis Ahmed

Dr Anis Ahmed is a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist with extensive experience working across secure and community settings in the NHS.
He currently serves as Clinical Lead in Psychiatry at Aston Medical School and is an Executive Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Faculty of Forensic Psychiatry.
As Chair of the Volunteering and International Psychiatry Special Interest Group (ViPSIG) from 2021 to 2025, Dr Ahmed has led numerous global mental health initiatives focusing on capacity building, ethical practice, and trauma-informed care in conflict-affected regions.
He is also the President of the British Bangladeshi Psychiatric Association (BBPA), championing diaspora engagement, health equity, and human rights-based approaches in mental health.
