Dr Eilis Kennedy

Presidential Lead for Early Life Health

Dr Eilis Kennedy is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at North London NHS Foundation Trust and also a visiting Professor at the Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology, University College London. She has a longstanding interest in early life health and how this influences trajectories across the life-course. She has been a lead and co-investigator on research studies which have evaluated interventions, across the prevention and treatment continuum, in pregnancy, infancy and early childhood.

She has also undertaken work focused on the impact of poverty, the developmental sequalae of preterm birth, infant autism and babies and young children in care. She is involved in research in child and adolescent health more broadly and is chief investigator of the NIHR funded LOGIC study (Longitudinal Outcomes of Gender Identity in Children), the largest and longest running study of its kind in the world to date.
